Mill Grove Food Pantry

The Mill Grove Food Pantry will be open each Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and is managed by church volunteers. No charge/cost. Jesus taught us to feed the hungry and love our neighbor. We are simply following Jesus example. Households may take the following number of bags of groceries based upon number of people in the household:
1 person = 2 bags
2 persons = 3 bags
3 persons = 4 bags
4 persons = 5 bags
5 persons = 6 bags etc.
This bag requirement is for the sole purpose of allowing the food pantry to assist as many families as possible. Produce or fruits are extra blessings and do not count in their number of bags allowed.   Families or individuals may get food assistance once every 6 weeks. If an immediate, urgent need arises the family can contact the church office for possible assistance from Mill Grove UMC or be directed to other charitable agencies.

Due to a higher than usual number of families requesting help recently, the food pantry is running very low on donations right now. Please prayerfully consider contributing either food or money to this very popular ministry.

With our number of visitors on the rise it’s crucial for food items to be donated regularly. Current needs are peanut butter, jelly, tuna, canned beef stew or chicken-n-dumplings, cans of stewed or diced tomatoes (no soup please), coffee, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, soap, toilet paper and paper towels.

Please see Maria Doby if you need a donation receipt, otherwise, all donations can be left in the wooden drop off box in the church lobby.

Financial donations can also be made payable to Mill Grove UMC memo: Food Pantry and placed in the offering plate. These funds will be given to the food pantry committee to shop for items needed.
